A rare joint performance by Cincinnati Pops, May Festival, Cincinnati Opera and Cincinnati Ballet…
A rare joint performance by the Cincinnati Pops, May Festival, Cincinnati Opera and Cincinnati Ballet will be presented this Friday, August 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Washington Park as part of the Park’s grand opening festivities. John Morris Russell will lead the full Pops orchestra in concert with the May Festival chorus, vocalists from the Cincinnati Opera, and dancers from the Cincinnati Ballet.
A temporary stage for the event will be constructed on Music Hall Plaza, the area on the northwest corner of the park directly in front of Music Hall. The temporary stage will be large enough to hold the full Pops orchestra, fifty members of the May Festival chorus, and performers from the Opera and Ballet. With Music Hall as its backdrop, this concert by all the celebrated tenants of the grand old structure will surely draw a crowd.
Street Pops and Taste of Belgium will also be onsite with plenty of tasty treats, along with merchandise tents for each of the four [performing] Cincinnati Arts Groups. A special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, PNC Bank, and to our media sponsor, WGUC.
